My parents built this house as a young couple and it was one of the earlier houses to be built in the neighborhood. The neighborhood has always been quiet and filled with good caring people who represent a true since of community. My mother would comment about how blessed she felt to have her home here as she enjoyed her morning coffee watching the birds at the yard feeders and enjoying the beauty of the woods in every season of the year.
As a child growing up here we enjoyed many football games, snowball fights and nights of firefly catching in the backyard. Summers were always fun with creek walks and family night fires in the outside fireplace that my great-grandfather built. Each stone has a memory, many coming from the creek behind the property. As an adult I had the pleasure of watching my children enjoy some of the same activities as once again the backyard was filled with neighborhood children playing kickball and their favorite game “capture the flag”.
This house has always been a “home”. Our hope is that the next family who is sheltered by its walls will have as many happy memories as I did and will be able to share it with multiple generations.
